Ispell sardinian spell-checker


This is an Ispell spell-checker for Sardinian based on the DitzLCS (Ditzionàriu de sa Limba e de sa Cultura Sarda) by Mario Puddu (no fully approved standard for the Sardinian language is yet available). It comprises the campidanese and logudorese variants which are the mostly spoken. This package is released under the terms of the GNU GPL, so it may be freely redistributed and/or used through interactive spell-checking programs such as Ispell and other programs such as Abiword. It may also be freely used for other purposes, as far as the resulting work remains free.

The package contains the following files:
  • the GNU general public license (gpl.txt)
  • the lesser GNU general public license (lgpl.txt);
  • an unofficial Italian translation of the GNU general public license (gpl_it.txt)
  • the affixes file for Sardinian (sardinian.aff);
  • the word list (sardinian.words);
  • the binary version of the Sardinian dictionary (sardinian.hash - little Endian: i386, i486, i586, etc.).

The current version of the dictionary has over 117.600 words but combined with the rules contained in sardinian.aff it gives rise to over 420.000 words recognized (the final file size is almost 16 MByte).
